This is a soundtrack for a film called Malerhjerte. The film is written and produced by young auteur Anton Breum with financial support from The Danish Film Institute. The music is trying to realistically reflect the characthers in the film, who are outgoing trendy/normal Copenhagen youngsters. They like/make art. They struggle, like a lot of artists do. Some artists don’t struggle at all. They are just gassing out and having a great time (Albert Ayler, Sun Ra).

I used a lot of drum machine and synth and matched it with some guitar and Asian string instrument. I included a track that didn’t make it onto the film. It has a 2 hardcore vibe. Dirty strong action. Like being on a motorized quest back into time trying to find the person who killed your main love. Too much for the mild brains of modern cinema. May be just right for you.

Christian contributes some keyboard and guitar action on track #6. The party hit is track #3. Lots of rhythmic stuff going on. A strong moment here and there.

OBS:
The cover art featured here hasn’t got anything to do with the film. I made it in a 3D graphics program called Google SketchUp. Making cover art in Google SketchUp is the greatest thing. If you need to convey anything you felt can be said through abstract combinations of moodless 3D-figures, contact me. A mix disc for your birthday or an invitation to a sad albeit groovy party, the shopping list, break-up imagery to difficult non-loved partner; it will do it.

This record is made with some instruments purchased on a shopping tour to Southern East Asia. It is instrumental howl of young person visiting some remote parts of a world. Trying hard to understand.

Woke up saturday (today.) after party feeling trapped and angrey. Activated relevant personnel and made a band (”Morgenvrede“) about it. Sent it off to tech-wizard Roy Hansen who made crispily sounding master about it. Posting tracks to website and forget about it!

Hawaii Seafood plays island living music. All the fish, sand, and water. Special vibe with water all around. Creates special musical tones and moods. Sometimes you think that you can’t escape. Makes you scared. Dolphins cool you down again. You rent the scooters.

All songs were written and recorded during a two week period in late 2008. All songs were four-handedly composed on a Yamaha PSS 480 keyboard. 7 tracks were written and recorded before said keyboard passed away. Gaps in the songs were patched with sounds produced by other instruments.

If you think these songs are about having fun, loving yourself for who you are, and living life to the fullest, you are mistaken. This is (once again) a collection of songs about being young and lonely in a city that is too big.
